In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on Heart Murmurs. During this lecture we will be starting with a discussion on the physiology of murmurs. We will then move into the location, radiation, pitch, quality, and intensity of heart murmurs and when to listen with the bell or diaphragm of the stethoscope. We will then be taking you through the various types of murmurs that can be grouped into several classifications including: early systolic murmurs, mid systolic murmurs, holosystolic murmurs, diastolic murmurs, and continuous murmurs. We will be concluding this lecture on the murmur accentuation maneuvers that can be performed to increase or decrease the intensity of a murmur. We hope you enjoy this lecture
