In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on CBC | Approach to Anemia. We will first be starting with the basics and discussing the lifecycle of a RBC. If you would like more information on the RBC Life Cycle and Destruction, please watch our videos listed below in our Hematology playlist. We will then move into our systematic approach on how to interpret a CBC and what tests are relevant to ordering. We begin by discussing the main categories for a decreased production of RBCs which will include microcytic, normocytic, and macrocytic anemias. We will then transition into RBC destruction and loss including hemolytic anemias and blood loss anemia. We will be presenting case studies on all of the types of Anemia for additional practice. We hope you enjoy this lecture!
