In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Strokes, ICH, SAH, a high yield review. We will be starting with the anatomy and physiology of the various structures and regions within the brain, along with the cerebral vasculature including the circle of willis. We then move into the etiology and pathophysiology of transient ischemic attack (TIA), acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Next, we move onto the clinical features of strokes and differentiating the various type of stroke syndromes and how they most classically present. The next portion of the lecture will focus on the diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral and subarachnoid hemorrhage, utilizing various diagnostics such as CT, MRI, CTA, and blood work. We conclude this lecture with the treatment of TIA/acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral and subarachnoid hemorrhage.
